NEW WAYS IN 2021
The new year for us begins with a change in leadership.
It was 1948 that our grandfather Jörg Lederer founded the company, starting with a handful of employees in the production of covered elastic thread.
Our father Manfred Lederer took over company management in 1980. He implemented ongoing advancements to continue to reliably serve our global customers with premium covered elastic yarns. The company grew to employ 120 people with its considerable success. With pride we can say today that we are among the most important covered yarn manufacturers in Europe today. Plus, from the start, we have done our manufacturing exclusively in Germany. The company grew to employ 120 people with its considerable success. In the past year, we have not only opened our new center for medical products with a total of 11 new covering machines; we have in fact also acquired the machinery and products from our former competitor Swisslastic. With that move, we are making a clear statement that the location in Germany is for us the future. With new technology we have nearly unlimited possibilities in the area of covered yarns for medical use, and we can also reduce our environmental footprint sustainably while producing in an energy-efficient manner. Sustainability plays a key role not only in energy efficiency but is also reflected in our products. The GRS Certificate we recently obtained enables us to offer our customers GRS-certified covered yarns. This allows us to be certain that not only the percent of recycled materials in our products remains totally transparent, but also the social and environmentally relevant aspects of production all the way through the entire supply chain do.
In particular, the trend towards more sustainability in the sports and outdoor industries has caused us in recent years to expand both our yarn development and our production capabilities in the area of natural fibers. Working together with our customers on custom development projects is a part of our philosophy. That enables us to continuously improve our product offerings and to adapt to market demands.
As a training company it remains near to our hearts to introduce young people to the textile industry. Only in this way can we succeed in remaining a permanent, competent and reliable partner for our customers for generations to come.
We all have trust in the future of the textile industry and look forward to the challenges that lie before us.
